Community Giving is the Focus for Walton & Company During the Holiday Season

Image
It is Important to Walton & Company to focus on community giving all year long, but especially during the holiday season. Serving Those In Need Through Community Giving This is the eighteenth year that the staff has chosen to come together to give back to the people in the community that they serve. This year Walton & Company “adopted”  three families who have fallen on hard times in 2017 and needed assistance.  Its important to step in and help provide presents and make the season a little brighter when we can. It was our pleasure to provide gifts and other items that were needed for the seven children from these three families who were struggling. We are also proud to donate to the  Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) . CHOP is a pediatric healthcare facility and primary care provider, offering the best available care and support for kids who are often times in desperate need of care. Walton & Company is Helping to Renovate Former Zakies and Woolworth Buildings

Image
Walton & Company   is helping to revitalize the once bustling downtown York area by completing a portion of the  renovation of the former Zakies Nightclub and the former Woolworth Department Store, both in the first block of West Market Street. Decades ago, this area served as a busy center for working, shopping, living, and entertainment. Sadly, several of the downtown buildings that were visited by many now sit vacant and are deteriorating, adding decay to the historically rich York City community. Through the Market Street Revitalization Project,   Royal Square Development and Construction (RSDC)   is helping York rebuild the West Market Street corridor by spearheading this extensive renovation of some of the City’s most prominent buildings. Towards this end, RSDC brought Walton and Company on board to renovate the plumbing and mechanical systems in these buildings. Zakies Building: 25-27 W. Market St. (closed in 1992) In 1985, Zakies opened its doors as one of York’s pre

Plasma Tables Used for Speed and Efficiency

Image
Walton & Company has a reputation for speed and efficiency on projects and these days the use of plasma tables may be part of the process.   Plasma cutting  was developed in the 1950’s and has evolved a great deal since then. It is a process that slices through electrically conductive materials by means of an accelerated jet of hot plasma. Materials cut with a plasma torch include steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass and copper, although other conductive metals may be cut as well. This type of cutting is often used in fabrication shops, automotive repair and restoration, industrial construction, and salvage and scrapping operations. Due to the high speed and precision cuts combined with low cost, plasma cutting sees widespread use from large-scale industrial CNC (Computer numerical control) applications down to small hobby shops. Plasma Tables at Walton & Company Walton and Company is equipped with two 20′ PPI retrofit plasma tables which provide a fast and efficient

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is Exploding in the World of Architecture, Engineering, and Construction

Image
What is BIM Building Information Modeling (BIM) is 3D based modeling of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical components all collaborated together and used as a tool to more efficiently plan, design, and construct buildings. Many general and construction managers are requiring BIM on projects. Many manufacturers of equipment have extensive catalogs of their equipment for 3D use. Building Information Modeling is Efficient and Increases Productivity For construction companies, virtual construction offers a fast way to gather necessary information from all trades (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection) and get the project underway. During preconstruction, modelers can model equipment and components to coordinate before construction even starts. Coordination begins in preconstruction when things can be changed and modified less-expensively. Installing equipment and components one time leads to less construction time, shorter durati
